Last I checked, the record was held by a super dedicated fan in France who managed to collect over 20,000 unique Pokemon cards. This was recognized by Guinness World Records. Imagine the dedication to catch 'em all in card form!

Honestly, considering how massive the Pokemon TCG community is, I wouldn't be surprised if someone has broken past 20k cards by now. Officially though, it's the guy with the 20,000 unique ones.
