Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) diverges from the manga halfway through, while Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009) sticks closely to the manga from start to finish.

Brotherhood is just better. It follows the manga exactly, while the original goes off on its own path.

Brotherhood is more faithful to the manga and has better animation quality. The original series has a unique storyline that wasn't in the manga.

Having watched both, I can tell you Brotherhood has a more complete storyline that aligns with the manga, while the 2003 series takes a different, darker route. Both are awesome, though!

If you're a Fullmetal Alchemist fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
