What to do when a train passes in Stardew Valley?
When you hear that horn and a train is passing through Stardew Valley, head over to the Railroad area north of the Mountain. Trains drop all sorts of goodies that you can collect, like coal, wood, and even rare items if you're lucky. Just make sure you don't stand on the tracks unless you're looking for a quick trip to Harvey's Clinic!

Totally disagree with the 'don't bother' advice. I always run for the train! It's like Stardew Valley's version of a lottery ticket, and sometimes you hit the jackpot with a prehistoric tool or something awesome. Plus, it's just exciting to see what drops!
Pro tip: Don't bother running for the train unless you're already nearby. The chance of getting something super rare is slim, and it's not worth dropping everything. Instead, focus on your farm or mining unless you're in the area.
FYI, the train thing is cool, but don't get too caught up. The game has so much more to offer than waiting around for a train to maybe drop something good.
