One Piece made the switch to digital animation starting with episode 207, which aired back in 2004. It was a pretty big deal because it marked a noticeable upgrade in the animation's quality and color vibrancy. Before that, the series used traditional animation techniques since its debut in 1999.

Actually, I liked the old animation style better, felt more 'pirate-y' to me. But yeah, it switched in 2004.

2004, episode 207! The show definitely got a facelift with that change, colors popped more and everything just felt smoother.

If you're a One Piece fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
