If you're playing on PC, check 'C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\StateOfDecay2'. That's where the save games hang out.
On Xbox, your saved game data is stored in the cloud and synced automatically, so no worries about losing your progress. You can also find it under 'My games & apps' if you wanted to manage it specifically.
