I literally spent hours looking for it, then realized you need a steel axe to break the log. Upgrading my tools never seemed so worth it. The Secret Woods are north-west, near the Wizard's Tower. Lots of hardwood and foraging goodies await!
The Secret Woods in Stardew Valley is tucked away in the northwest corner of the Cindersap Forest. The easiest way to get there is to head west from your farm, then south past the Wizard's Tower. Look for a log blocking an entrance - you'll need to upgrade your axe to at least steel quality to chop it down and gain access.
