Check the area around the huge tree in the northwest! Found a raccoon there once.
Raccoons usually hang out in the northwestern part of the peninsula, especially near the Snow Biome. Just look for areas with lots of trees and you'll spot them! Happy hunting!
I've had luck finding raccoons by the river that runs through the north of the map. Best to go at night!
