The Pokémon video game actually came first! It was released in 1996 in Japan, while the Pokémon Trading Card Game didn't make its appearance until 1996 in Japan. So, gamers got the first taste of catching 'em all before the card collectors did!

Actually, it was the video game that premiered first. Started playing the game on my Game Boy in '96, then got hooked on the cards later. Good times!

Defo the video game. Pokémon Red and Green versions hit Japan in 1996, and the cards started spreading the Pokémon fever later that same year. The video game laid the groundwork for what became an expansive universe.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
