Tanjiro doesn't die, but the final battle takes a toll on several key characters. Most notably, Muzan, the main villain, meets his defeat. Also, several Hashira fall during the battle, including Mitsuri, Iguro, and Sanemi.

To avoid major spoilers, let's just say that some prominent characters make ultimate sacrifices, including the Hashira, during the climactic battle against Muzan.

Spoilers: Muzan dies at the end. It鈥檚 a battle of epic proportions, and not everyone's walking away from it, that's for sure.

The ending has bittersweet moments. While Tanjiro survives, characters like Mitsuri and Iguro don't make it.
