Unfortunately, Facebook doesn't tell you directly if someone blocks you, but you can check by searching for their profile. If it's missing and you can't message them, they might've blocked you.
Try looking up the person's profile while logged out or using a different account. If the profile appears, you've probably been blocked.
Honestly, if you can't find their profile and you used to be friends, they're probably blocking you.
