Why Does State of Decay Keep Going into Windowed Mode?
It could be your game settings! Go into the video settings and make sure 'Fullscreen' is selected. Sometimes updates reset settings.

Check your Alt+Tab habit! If you often switch out of the game, it might force it into windowed mode to play nice with your desktop.
Your graphics driver might be the culprit. Try updating it and see if that helps. Good luck!
I had the same issue! Disabling 'Fullscreen Optimizations' on the .exe file fixed it for me. Right-click the game launcher, go to properties, and you'll find it there.
