Lol, green blood was just a workaround to avoid the controversy surrounding video game violence. Ah, the ‘90s.
They made the blood green to avoid problems with regulations and not get banned in certain places. Simple as that.
It's green because the SNES version had censorship issues, so they replaced red blood with 'sweat' which looked green. Classic Nintendo move!
