Season 4 of High School DxD, known as High School DxD Hero, has a different animation style because the studio changed from TNK to Passione. This switch also brought a new director, which influenced the series' tone and pacing.
Less fan service, more plot focus. The change of studio to Passione in Season 4 shifted the balance a bit. I appreciated the new approach!
