Season 4 of High School DxD switched to a new animation studio, which changed the art style and threw some fans off. Plus, some plot changes deviated from the light novels, which annoyed purists.

Different strokes for different folks. I enjoyed the character development and humor, even if the animation was a bit different.

The change in animation style was jarring, and it took away from the intensity of certain scenes. Also, some fans didn't like the pacing.
