They probably wanted to use new tech that the PS4 just can't handle.

Mortal Kombat 1 is focused on leveraging next-gen hardware features, so it's only available on the PS5 and other current-gen systems.

Mortal Kombat 1 isn't on PS4 because it's an older game from 1992, and it was originally released on older consoles like the SNES and Sega Genesis.

It's simple: Mortal Kombat 1 was released way before the PS4 existed. You can still find it on classic systems or maybe an arcade machine if you're lucky!

Mortal Kombat 1 is only on PS5 because they can make it look and play better with the new hardware.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company. The logos and other identifying marks attached are trademarks of and owned by each represented company and/or its affiliates. Please visit each company's website for additional terms and conditions.
