Could be the servers, honestly. Sometimes they get really packed, especially during peak hours or after a big update. Try playing at different times and see if it gets any better.
Just reboot your router and console/PC. Fixes it for me most of the time. It's like turning it off and on again, but for your internet.
Make sure you're playing on the right server region. Playing on servers far away can increase lag a ton!
