First, make sure your controller is properly connected to the PC. If that checks out, go into Fortnite settings and enable 'Controller' in the input settings.

Maybe your controller isn't properly configured in Windows. Go to 'Devices and Printers' in your Control Panel and make sure your PC recognizes it.

Did you try turning it off and on again? Sometimes a simple reboot does wonders.

Check if your controller needs a firmware update. I had this issue, and updating my controller fixed it instantly!
