Rocket League Sideswipe can be laggy if your internet connection isn't strong or you have too many apps running in the background. Try closing other apps and making sure you're connected to a stable Wi-Fi network!
I had the same issue! Switching from mobile data to a solid Wi-Fi network made a huge difference. Game on!
