Check if your controller has a built-in mute button that's accidentally turned on. Happened to me once, felt like a noob!

PS5's default chat method is set to 'Party Chat' by default. You gotta change it to 'Game Chat' in the settings!
Honestly, it might be your mic itself. Try it on another device to rule out hardware issues.
