Because it's old tech, folks! The 3DS is cool and all, but it's not the hot new thing anymore. Game devs are looking forward, not backward. Plants vs Zombies 2 is all about reaching as many people as possible, and that's on smartphones and new consoles.

Plants vs Zombies 2 isn't coming to the 3DS mostly because of business decisions. The 3DS market is smaller compared to smartphones and newer consoles, so game developers prioritize platforms where they can reach a larger audience. Plus, the focus has shifted towards mobile and PC gaming, with PvZ 2 being free-to-play with in-app purchases, which fits mobile gaming better. It's all about where they can get the most bang for their buck!

PopCap Games never planned a 3DS release, likely due to the platform's decline in popularity compared to mobile devices.

3DS just wasn't the right fit. Mobile gaming blew up, so they went where the action (and money) was.

EA and PopCap probably thought mobile was a better bet, given the larger audience and freemium model success.

If you're a Plants vs Zombies player looking for extra money or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Plants vs Zombies essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
