The Pokemon card shortage comes down to a perfect storm of increased demand during the pandemic, scalpers snagging up inventory to sell at higher prices, and production issues due to global supply chain disruptions. Everyone's stuck at home and rediscovering their love for the nostalgia, leading to a surge in both new players and collectors!

Short? Cause everyone and their mom decided Pokemon cards are the next big thing again. Scalpers using bots didn't help either.

Actually, I think the shortage is overblown. Sure, some cards are hard to get, but if you're really into collecting, you'll find a way. Maybe not at retail, but there's always trades and community sales.

Production just couldn't keep up with the crazy demand. Pandemic had everyone looking for hobbies and Pokemon cards were a hit, leading to shortages.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
