Tokyo Ghoul wasn't exactly canceled; the anime wrapped up its storyline with Tokyo Ghoul:re. They completed the manga adaptation, so there wasn't more source material to cover.

The anime adaptation received criticism for deviating from the manga, which might've hurt its popularity. But technically, it wasn't canceled since it finished its run.

It wasn't canceled, just concluded. They went through the entire arc in Tokyo Ghoul:re.

Some fans think the adaptation strayed too far from the manga, which might've affected its run. But yeah, it pretty much wrapped up!
