Tickrate in CS:GO refers to how often the game updates its state per second. Think of it as the game's heartbeat; the higher the tickrate, the more updates per second. Most matchmaking servers run at 64 ticks, meaning they update 64 times per second. However, more competitive and professional servers often use a 128 tickrate for smoother and more precise gameplay.

Honestly, unless you're going pro, 64 tick is fine. People make a big deal out of 128 tick, but the difference isn't massive for casual play.

Simply put, tickrate is the speed at which a CS:GO server processes actions. 128 tick servers are the gold standard - they're like that premium fuel for your need-for-speed car in the game. Your moves and shots get processed twice as fast compared to the regular 64 tick servers. It's what you want for the crispest headshots!
