Starting your journey in Pokémon Scarlet, you'll get your pick of the starter Pokémon from a trio - Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly - in the very beginning of the game! No need to hunt them down in the wild. Professor Sada will offer you this choice after you've gone through the initial setup of your character. So just follow the game's storyline, and you won't miss it!

Actually, catching starters in the wild isn't a thing. The game hands them over to you straight up. If you're looking to get all three, you might want to coordinate with friends for trades.
