They made it to take all our spare time! Jokes aside, Subway Surfers started as a project to bring some fresh air into the endless runner genre, combining vibrant visuals, smooth controls, and engaging mechanics. The developers also saw an opportunity to create a game that could be continuously updated with new themes and characters, keeping the game alive and the community engaged.

Money, obviously. Every game's end goal is to be profitable, and Subway Surfers' addictive gameplay, coupled with in-app purchases, proved to be a winning formula.

Subway Surfers was created as a fun and engaging endless runner game to captivate players with its simple yet addictive gameplay. The developers, Kiloo and SYBO Games, aimed to provide a lighthearted escape where players can experience the thrill of dodging obstacles, collecting coins, and unlocking new characters and gear, all while being chased by a grumpy Inspector and his dog. It’s the thrill of the chase mixed with vibrant graphics that keeps players coming back for more.
