Actually, I had the same issue and adding Rec Room to the exceptions didn't cut it for me. I had to completely uninstall Avast and switch to a different antivirus. Haven't had a problem since. Maybe it's time to look at how Avast treats games and not just blame the game?

It's just a false positive, folks. Rec Room is 100% legit and does not steal your data or harm your device. Add it to your list of exceptions in Avast, and you'll be golden.

It's because Avast is overprotective, and it doesn't play nice with games sometimes. Just add Rec Room to the exceptions list, and it should work fine. You won't have to get rid of Avast altogether.

Avast might be blocking Rec Room because it sees it as an unknown or untrusted application. Since Rec Room involves a lot of real-time online interactions and downloads from various creators, Avast could flag it by mistake, seeing these behaviors as potentially harmful. The best workaround is to add Rec Room to your Avast exceptions list. Just open Avast, go to settings, find the Exceptions section, and add Rec Room to ensure it's not wrongly identified as a threat.

If you're a Rec Room player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Rec Room gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
