Why is my ping so high in CS:GO?

Might be time to upgrade your hamster-wheel internet to something that doesn't take a coffee break every time you log on to CS:GO. Jokes aside, bad routing from your ISP to the game server could also be the culprit. Consider using a VPN to find a better route.

It's all about location, location, location. If the server is on another continent, your ping's gonna be high, simple as that.

I had the same issue, turned out my brother was torrenting the entire internet in the next room. Make sure nothing else is using your network.

High ping in CS:GO can be super annoying, feels like you're moving through molasses! There's a few reasons why it might be happening. First, check your internet connection. A slow or unstable connection is the usual suspect. You might also be playing on a server that's far away from you, so the data takes a longer trip. Make sure you're not downloading anything in the background, that can gobble up bandwidth like nothing else. Lastly, give your router a good old restart, sometimes it just needs a little nap.

Don't forget, it could be the game server itself having a bad day. Not everything is under our control.
