Are PS3 and PS4 Hard Drives the Same?
Nope, PS3 and PS4 hard drives aren’t the same. The PS3 uses a 2.5-inch SATA I drive, while the PS4 uses a 2.5-inch SATA II or III drive. They're not interchangeable without some tinkering.

Absolutely not. PS4 drives are way faster, making them incompatible without mods.
I upgraded my PS3 and PS4 drives myself! PS3 uses SATA I, but for the PS4, you can benefit from a SATA II or III SSD for faster speeds.
While both use 2.5-inch SATA drives, the PS4 hard drive runs faster due to SATA II/III support. You can't swap them directly.
