I've tried it myself, and the PS3 controller won't work with the PS4. I had to get a new PS4 controller.

Nope, the PS3 remote isn't compatible with the PS4. You'll need a PS4 controller to play.

Unfortunately, you can't use a PS3 remote on a PS4. The systems don't recognize them.
