Unfortunately, PlayStation doesn't have a direct gifting option for digital games like some other platforms. But you can still buy a PlayStation Store gift card and send that to your friend so they can purchase the game themselves!

Nah, you can't gift digital games directly, but PlayStation Store gift cards are the way to go. They're as good as money in the PlayStation world!
