I've tried it before, didn't work. Just grab a local PSN card for the country you're in.

No, you can't use American PSN cards in Korea. PSN cards are region-locked, so you'll need Korean PSN cards for that.

Nope, gotta get PSN cards that are specifically for Korea. The regional lock is pretty strict.
