I tried this once. The PS4 didn't recognize the PS3 hard drive at all. You gotta go with a PS4-specific drive.

Unfortunately, the PS3 hard drive isn't compatible with the PS4. You'll need to get a new one specifically for the PS4.

Nope, you can't use a PS3 hard drive in a PS4. The hardware and OS are just too different!
