Yes, the PS3 can play DVD-R discs. I’ve played a bunch of movies on my PS3, and no issues!

I’ve never had any problems using DVD-Rs on my PS3. Just make sure the disc is clean and not scratched.

Absolutely! The PS3 supports DVD-R, as long as the disc is in a format it recognizes.
