Unfortunately, you can't really avoid the UFO forever in XCOM 2. It's designed to keep the tension high and force you into those thrilling desperate fights!

In my playthroughs, I've tried all sorts of strategies, but that UFO always finds me sooner or later. Best bet: get those defense matrixes up and have your A-team ready!
