You definitely can drop items in Doors. I've done it multiple times when I needed a different tool for a puzzle.

You can't drop items in Doors. Just gotta use 'em wisely or carry 'em around!

Unfortunately, you can't drop items in Doors, but you can always pick up new ones to replace what you have!

Nah, you can't drop items in Doors. Once you pick 'em up, they're stuck with ya till you use 'em or finish a run.
