Unfortunately, Sony doesn't offer a direct way to gift games on the PS4. You can, however, buy a PlayStation Store gift card and let your friend pick the game they want!

Sony dropped the ball on this one. No gifting games directly, but PlayStation Store gift cards are a solid workaround.
