Nope, you can't make a shield in Minecraft on the PS3. Shields were added in the Combat Update, which is not available on PS3.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but shields aren't craftable on Minecraft PS3. It's only available on newer versions of the game.

Just use a sword and dodge like a pro! Shields aren't in the PS3 version of Minecraft.

I played Minecraft on PS3 for years. Unfortunately, you can't craft a shield in that version. You'll need the newer updates for that.
