Nope, PS3 and PS4 players can't play Minecraft together because they run different versions of the game. It's a bummer, but you'll need the same console to join each other's worlds.

Unfortunately, cross-platform play isn't supported between PS3 and PS4 for Minecraft. Both consoles use different versions and servers. Stick to playing with friends on the same console!

I tried playing Minecraft on my PS3 with my friend on a PS4, and it didn't work. We had to use the same console to play together.
