Unfortunately, you can't play PS3 discs directly on a PS5. But don't worry, some PS3 games are available via PlayStation Now, Sony's streaming service!

I've tried it myself: PS3 discs won't work on the PS5. But you can stream some of them through PlayStation Now!

Nope, you can't put a PS3 disk into a PS5 and expect it to work. Look for re-releases or remasters instead.
