Totally! I use my PS4 controller for PS4 games on my PS5 all the time. Just can't use it for PS5-specific titles.

Yes, you can use a PS4 controller on a PS5, but only for playing PS4 games. PS5 games require the DualSense controller.

I've tried it myself. PS4 controllers work great with PS4 games on the PS5, but don't expect to use them for newer PS5 titles.
