Trying to use a PS3 hard drive in a PS4 won't work. The PS4 requires a specific file system and formatting that the PS3 hard drive doesn't have.

Nope, you can't just swap a PS3 hard drive into a PS4. They're not compatible because the PS4 will need to reformat the drive, which means it will erase all the data.

Trust me, I tried. You can't put a PS3 hard drive into a PS4 without reformatting, and you'll lose all your data in the process.

Nah, you can't do that. Different formatting and software requirements between the PS3 and PS4 drive.
