No PS Plus, no party. It鈥檚 one of the perks of having the subscription.

Just got PS5 and tried it myself. Unfortunately, joining parties does require PlayStation Plus. Worth it for the extra perks though!

Actually, you can join parties without PS Plus. The requirement is only for online multiplayer.
