I wish I had put a screen protector on my Steam Deck from day one. Learned it the hard way when I found a scratch right across the screen after just a week. Can't recommend getting one strongly enough.
Honestly, I've been using mine without a screen protector and it's been fine. It's built pretty tough. But if you're prone to accidents or just want to be safe, it couldn't hurt to get one.
No need for a screen protector, IMO. The Steam Deck's screen is quite robust, and a protector might even reduce the touch sensitivity or display quality. Just use it carefully and you should be good.
