You only need PS Plus if you want to access the online features of Chalice Dungeons, like sharing your dungeon creations or playing others'. Otherwise, you're good to go!

As someone who spent countless hours in Chalice Dungeons, I can confirm that PS Plus enhances the experience with online features, but it's not necessary for offline play.
