Unfortunately, yes. If you want to play Rocket League online on PlayStation, you’ll need a PS Plus subscription. But hey, that subscription also gets you other cool perks and free games every month!

Yes, you need PS Plus for online play. Offline modes don't require it.

To play Rocket League's online multiplayer mode on PS4 or PS5, yep, you need a PS Plus subscription. Offline and local splitscreen modes don't require PS Plus, though, so you can still enjoy some car soccer action with friends at home!

Speaking from experience, you absolutely need PS Plus for the online multiplayer experience in Rocket League on any PlayStation console. I learned the hard way mid-match!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
