Actually, it's an SMG, which means it's treated as an automatic rifle for perks, not a pistol. Learned that the hard way after decking out my pistol perks. ?

Nope, it's an automatic rifle. So if you're building around pistol perks, the 10mm SMG won't benefit from those.
