Yes, a PS5 controller can work on a PS3, but you'll need to connect it via USB cable. Wireless support isn't really there, unfortunately!

Honestly, just stick with a PS3 or PS4 controller for the PS3. DualSense is made for the PS5 for a reason!

I’ve tried it myself—plugged my DualSense into the PS3 using a USB, and it worked for most games. Some compatibility issues might pop up, though.
