Mostly no. The PS3 Slim doesn't support PS2 games, but it can still play PS1 titles. You'll need an original PS3 for full backward compatibility with PS2 games.

I own a PS3 Slim. It doesn't play PS2 games, but it works fine with PS1 discs. So if you're nostalgic for the old classics, you're in luck!
