How are Animal Crossing voices made?

Oh, the voices in Animal Crossing have this special charm, don't they? They're actually made using a clever technique called 'synthesized speech.' The developers take real human voices, then chop them up and play around with pitch and speed. This magic mix results in the adorable gibberish we hear in the game, which somewhat varies with different texts. It's like they're talking, but not in any language we know!

I read somewhere that the devs wanted players from all over to feel included, so they made a universal 'language' by speeding up and altering recorded speech. It sounds like they're speaking, but you can't pin it to any real-world language. Super creative!

Not a fan. Sounds like gibberish and makes it hard to feel connected to the characters. Real voice acting would've been better.

Actually, they're not real voices. It's all computer-generated! Designed to sound cute and gibberish-y.

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
