Honestly, they're not all they're hyped up to be. Sure, turning enemies into glowing piles of goo with a Plasma Rifle has its moments, but energy weapons wear down so fast it's kinda annoying. Plus, you gotta constantly hunt for specific ammo types or materials to craft them.
I personally love energy weapons in FO76! Especially after the recent updates, they feel more balanced. The right perks and mods can make them seriously powerful. Plus, there's something incredibly satisfying about disintegrating a Super Mutant with a well-placed laser shot. Just my two cents!
